Give Back a Smile is developed to restore the broken and damaged teeth of survivors of domestic violence. Dentists will restore the broken and/or missing teeth, at no cost to the survivor.
Program does not replace work that has been already repaired through previous enrollment in the GBAS program or by the survivor's own dentist, or caused by dental care neglect. A dentist will make the final determination. The program is only available to victims of spousal/relationship violence, and specifically excludes dental damage caused by child/elder/sibling/caregiver/parent abuse, violent attacks not related to domestic violence, stranger attacks or accidental injury.
Applicants must be out of the abusive relationship at least one year, have had at least one interview to confirm the domestic violence. A signature of a counselor, advocate, social worker, case manager or minister must be provided on the application for acceptance into the program.
