Glove House, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit corporation committed to unconditional care, whose mission is to provide the highest quality, cost-effective human services for children and their families. Glove House operates two residential programs for adolescents who have been placed into the custody of Social Services and have been adjudicated with a P.I.N.S. or Juvenile Delinquent status. One of our facilities is co-educational and the other is all-male; both accommodate ten residents. All Glove House residents attend public school and participate in community activities. Counseling, guidance and supervision are provided through staff and outside entities. All residents receive independent living skills training as part of their program and treatment.

The After School Program (ASP) is a New York State Office of Children and Family Services school age childcare registered program. The ASP offers educational, social and multicultural activities for children ages 4-10. The ASP contains two specialized programs for Pre-K students and K-5 graders. These programs offer educational, social, multicultural and recreational activities as well as a heavy focus on developmental activities based on age. Each day, participants may choose from activities such as art, recreation, the multicultural activities room and homework assistance. All participants must be registered and snacks are provided. The program operates Monday-Friday and on a number of days that school is closed. The Pre-Teen program is designed to accommodate the special needs of Pre-Teens while they are making the transition from childhood to becoming a teen. The program includes: arts and crafts, cultural activities, science exploration, cooking and special activities. All participants must be registered in the program.

The William George Agency for Childrens' Services supplies institutionalized residential treatment for socially and emotionally handicapped boys ages 12-17 and girls of high school age. There is an on-campus school, recreation and work-experience program. Regular treatment is provided through individual counseling and therapeutic groups by professional social workers and psychologists. Current capacity: 193, of which 52 beds are in the Boys' Hard-to-Place ("Critical Care") program and 12 are in the Girls' Hard-to-Place ("Critical Care") program, 20 are for sex offenders, 27 are for dually diagnosed youth (mentally retarded/emotionally disturbed), 9 are in an intensive residential substance abuse program, and 73 are in a less structured, open-campus program. Referrals may be made by Departments of Social Services, Probation, school districts or the Office of Children & Family Services.
