One-to-One Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) provides mentoring for children ages six through 14.
"Bigs" spend time each week with their "Littles," to help them discover their strengths, develop social skills and explore the opportunities for children in Tompkins County.

Eligible children have unmet needs for individual adult support and attention. There are children waiting to be matched with a "Big." One-to-One weekend programs run during the fall and spring semesters. Saturday programs provide activities for both children who have adult mentors and those on the waiting list.

The Outing Program focuses on teamwork, cooperation and creating a positive group dynamic. Through safe but exciting outdoor and teambuilding activities, trips and group challenges, participants develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially in an educational, non-competitive environment. Participants cultivate their leadership, social, emotional, problem solving, communication and listening skills; learn responsibility, confidence and caring, and build positive relationships.

Jacobus Center for Reproductive Health (JCRH) offers a variety of reproductive health care services to women, men, and teens. Our high quality services are confidential and provided on a sliding fee scale. Each visit includes the opportunity to discuss your birth control choices and other health related concerns. Trained staff will teach you how to use the contraceptive method of your choice. Day or evening appointments are available at the Jacobus Center, located on the first floor, Room 115, of the County Office Building, 60 Central Avenue in Cortland. There is also a clinic on the SUNY Cortland campus when the college is in session. The Jacobus Center is a Safe Space for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) youths and adults. Services include: • Contraceptive care (birth control) including the pill, Depo Provera, Ortho Evra patch, diaphragm, male and female condoms, IUD, and spermicides • Gynecological exams: breast & pelvic exams, pap smears • Pregnancy testing/options counseling • Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STD's) • Confidential HIV counseling/testing
